The steam4me site is proud to announce the release of the long-awaited West Coast Railway 4-6-4 express steam locomotive.

Click on the highlighted link below to download a 6MB executable file that will install R711 into your Train Simulator game.  A light engine consist will be installed enabling you to get "on the road" as soon as possible.  We trust that you will enjoy running this locomotive.

Your attention is drawn to two clauses in the readme.txt that form part of the terms and conditions of use of this locomotive, namely

- You may only re-paint this locomotive for your own personal use. You may NOT upload re-paints to any public forum or file area or distribute them via any means of electronic or non electronic medium;

- you may NOT produce and distribute in any way a screenshot containing a re-painted locomotive.  If you require specific versions of this model or wish to re-paint them for public distribution you must contact the authors first who will then consider either producing such a variant or distributing on your behalf a re-painted version done by yourself.  But distribution and ALL copyrights will remain with the authors at all times;

Prototype Notes:  Still in regularly timetabled operation today in Victoria Australia (April - December, ie out of summer fire period), a model of this thrilling locomotive is being brought to you by Joseph Spinella.  A 1951-built 4-6-4 North British Loco, this loco was extensively rebuilt by WCR at their Ballarat East workshops in 1998 - modifications included conversion to oil burning, double Lempor exhausts, modified front end, rotary burner, extensive valve gear modifications.   These modifications were designed by well-known loco guru, Phil Girdlestone of South Africa.
