Load your route up in editor:

Click on the select tool:-

Place your first marker(start)then your second marker(end):

Now click on offset button:

You should now see 2 yellow lines with pointers

You can change width by altering this value

With the offest highlighted (1)we have to tell what we want offset,this case a fence (2):

Click on the yellow marker to place the fence:

You now have a fence:
